I was thinking of bringing out my camcorder to tape footage of all of the games throughout the day. If only for my own practice with taping paintball games, editing and whatnot.
Anyway, does any of the teams playing NOT want me to film their games? I won't film anyone that doesn't want to be filmed, but I thought it might be kind of cool to have a hardcopy record of what happens in the day.
Jamie/Chad/Matty/Steve/etc - is there a place that I can use to film the games? I don't want to get in the way, so if there isn't a decent place to film then I won't worry too much about it.
that would be super awesome if you had a video camera there and were taping the whole event. I think it would be great if we could get multiple angles of everything, and then make a great video of it all afterwards. Please do bring out your equipment, and videotape the whole tournament if you can....there is one stipulation though, can I get a copy of the uneditted footage? lol, just like you were saying, i'm also trying to learn how to edit video and make some movies. This was going to be my first real try making a long video and so thats just so much more for me to use. What kind of camcorder do you have? minidv? anyways, looking forward to seeing you there.

Yeah multiple angles would definately be cool, just have to sync the video.
My cam is a minidv camera, so if you want raw footage you'll have to get me some dvd-r's so I can put the footage on it.
As far as pricing goes, I was thinking that if the person burning the footage gets media to put it on (a la dvd-r's) why bother charging people for it? Anything I would be a part of would be FREE, less media and shipping.
Matty, I will bring out the cam and will do my part to tape the whole thing. We'll try to get a good range of angles covered.
I cannot speak for anyone else that was filming, but I did manage to get some prelim action, but focused on the quarter, semi and final games.
I am going to pull the video later today, and after that is done I will work some magic to make it look pretty good.
Matty, I can also send you the raw footage. Do you want me to mail you the minidv tape, or a dvd with the captured footage on it?
Once I look at it fully I can get a good idea if there is enough decent footage from my tape to make a long enough video. I would imagine the best way would be to combine the video shot by the various cameras into one piece!
hey CJ, a compilation of it all on a dvd would be awesome. I think that way its a little bit cheaper as well. I'll catch ya on msn sometime and give you my mailing addy here in red deer.
Matty.

Alright, I have pretty much finished compiling all of the actual game footage that I have (that doesn't consist of sky shots, floor shots, or out of focus shots as I fiddled with the camera).
Thanks to Eric from Shrapnel Paintball, more video is due to arrive soon, video from alternate angles and of different games. So, I can add that to my footage to make for a video with more footage.
My coverage edits to about 25-30 minutes, and so with additional footage it should be even better.
One thing I haven't been able to do is find suitable music for the compilation, something that is adrenaline pumping without being abusive...
