Open practice after Hailstorm Rookie Tourney #1

Well, heres just another little reason to attend Hailstorms season opening Tournament. The first full game of Xball in western Manitoba and possibly all of Manitoba. Hailstorm has been working hard to ensure that our first tournament of the year will be the one to be talked about for the entire season.

Hailstorm will be having an open practice after our rookie tourney which will be in the format of a real xball game. Now if the initial amount of teams is any indication, we probably will have to have this practice on sunday the 24th of April but if we finish the rookie tournament early enough and we aren't all dead from exhaustion we will be hosting the practice right after the tournament on the 23rd.

Here's whats happening:
- full game of Xball, either 20 or 25 minute halves
- most likely 3 on 3 with a 2 minute timeout in between points. that means we need 7 players per team and if we get enough interest than we can easily do 5 v 5 but that would require roughly 10 people per team

- Reffing will be done by players from Killarney who aren't participating in the game and players who want to stay and watch but don't want to play and other volunteer refs although we won't need many refs with how courteous manitoba ballers are

- Tournament teams who played in our tournament will be able to use left over paint from the tourney in the xball game (what a great way to get rid of left over paint hey) and if you need more we will have our practice paint out for sale at the field at a discounted rate. This will not be the tournament paint but a lower quality paint.

- You do not have to have a team in the tournament to come to the practice, anyone and everyone is welcome to come and play or even just to watch.

- There will be a laptop with an official xball scoreboard being run by a scorekeeper to ensure that the game is running smoothly and properly which will keep track of score, penalties, timeouts, etc.

I hope that people are as excited about this as I am. I think it will be a great time with nothing to lose so we should be witnessing a great game. If you are worried about staying another night and paying for hotels and food and whatnot, well we've thought of this too. If needs be we have a place for a certain amount of people to stay in Killarney free of charge if the practice is held on sunday. That means that you will get either a couch or floorspace or something to that effect but you will be warm and I can guarantee that there will be a lot of paintball talk, videos, gun fondling, and general testosterone going around as that always seems to happen when ballers get together. If you have any other questions just post here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Hope that there is some serious interest in this guys. I'm looking forward to playing some Xball.

Matty.

I know we where pretty beat from reffing the tourney all day, but the first half was pretty well played anyway.

RE: Open practice after Hailstorm Rookie Tourney #

that was just......INCREDIBLE. The first half was so much fun, and jamie is right, i've definitely never played that much paintball in a half hour in my entire life but I guess thats what happens when you have 5 to a team with 3 man lines lol. Only getting to sit one game after playing two straight is definitely a work out and probably a bit harder on the paint than most of us were hoping. The thing is though, is that I can't wait to do that again except this time I want to do an entire game (and not have it peter out near the end) with full 5 man lines and just go crazy. Anyone who didn't stay and play missed out on a lot of fun.
