Hey guys, we jost got back home from our first day, we alll played solid solid, and we ended up 4-2 on the day, and play 2 more for prelims tomorrow
We lost to pheonix first game of the day Beat DV8 second game Beat Virus on the evil field 3rd game Beat The Club (compliments of chads deadmans walk) Lost to Xtreme 420 on the MR field Beat Impact on the MR field
we play XPC and Deception tomorrow, two tough games ahead of us but we should be good for semis at the least
wow what a REDICULOUS improvement from the first event. We really came together this event and it was crazy having random people coming up to us saying wow you guys are playing amazing... We ended the prelims with a 3rd place finish being the only team to have beaten impact in prelims... and we managed to do it with 5 strong. Semi's we were in a tought division with XPC and Phoenix (teams both eligible for the series prize), Phoenix lost to XPC to start, so they really needed to win their game against us and damn did we ever play our hearts out that game. haha We eneded up starting well getting a 1 guy off the break and another shortly after. Phoenix ended up playing hard and kept pushing those tapes starting to pinch us in pretty hard lol and then after that well all i remember is getting pinched hard by the snake... 15 seconds later i see matty at the other end of the field yelling clear! It was a huge win for us which would gurantee us a spot in finals, and took phoenix out of the finals and any shot at the series prize. Our next game against XPC we all knew would be a tough one (they were the only team all year that we hadnt beaten yet) and well we played hard, danny pushed the monster fast and hard. They ended up trying to keep filling but we kept danny out of trouble from getting bunkered in there.. and ended up getting matty into the snake. From there the rest of the team kept pushing... and we ended up beating them something like 2 alive. After semis we were sitting in Second place!
We went into finals pumped just to be there, but knew we could contend with all the teams there. Our first game of finals started out against XPC. We basically ended up playing with the same set up as our first game against them, and we ended up winning 3 or 2 strong. Next game was against The Club... we ended up starting out good, but they pushed the snake and the monster hard which tore us apart and ended up losing 4 guys in a matter of 15 seconds or so... which cost us the game. Last game of the finals was against Impact... we knew it would be a tough one as Impact had been playing some stand up ball all day long. They pushed the snake hard, and we ended up losing bodies pretty fast... matty's reg on his shocker ended up breaking on him right during the 5 second count.
All in all it was an amazing 2 days of paintball and we gained a lot of respect from many teams out there... I know i personally would like to thank the whole team on a great season and just giving me the opportunity to wear the Hailstorm jersey. Im definitely looking for next year and I have confidence that we'll be a team not to be taken lightly next series.
Thanks out to the rest of the guys on the team and everyone whos supported us!

P.S MATTY IS STILL SINGLE AND LONELY AND NEEDS A GIRLFRIEND ASAP BEFORE HE CONTINUES TO GO EMO ON THE REST OF US. IF ANYONE IS INTERESTED PLEASE POST HERE WITH PHONE NUMBERS AND WHAT NIGHTS/DAYS YOUR AVAILABLE.
Well, Scotty pretty much covered it all. It was really fun event. Even though we did play really well I was a little disapointed that we didnt get into the top 3. I have to say though that beating phoenix in the semi's to knock them out of the event was probably the highlite of the event for me. Beating Phoenix in semi's when they had to win to keep their hopes of winning the series alive was HUGE. I was sorry we had to send them home because they are really good guys but it put us into the finals. Our last game of the day was against Impact on the Evil field. If we won the game we would have locked up second and possibly first. We felt pretty good about that game because to that point in E4 we had not lost a single game on the Evil field. However, we had some bad luck at the start of the game with equipment and they took advantage of a couple of mistakes and beat us to wrap up 2nd place and the series win.
I have to say that I felt more comfortable with the boys on the team then any other event this year. I wasnt at all worried about what anyone else on the team was doing, everyone did their jobs amazingly. Especially on the Evil field, Jeremo, Scotty and Danny just owned that monster!! It was sweet, whenever I heard jeremstar yell "monster", "monster" two seconds later I would hear "splash monster" and see Danny or Jeremstar in there mowing down the rest of the field.
Everyone had their moments, Tim especially in semis was destroying guys in the middle, matty, that triple bunker on phoenix in semis was a thing of beauty. Now theres Chad, the DMW against the club, call it what you like, was somwthing I have never seen before especially at this level and to actually pull it off the way he did was crazy. I know the victim of the DMW wasnt too please but I guess he will learn to shoot guys off the field next time.....lol
Chad played awsome. Best I have seen yet. That game against XPC in semi's where Chad and I where 2on1, I'm yelling "chad, we have lots of time" and he's just sprinting the field mowing this wall of paint in front of him rips the guy out of the 30 and grabs the flag!! So good. Chad played like a pro and definetly deserved the coveted "gitch". lol
Jeremy, you where reading my mind every game. Every time I was about to bump you up I would look over and you where already doing what I was about to get you to do. Awsome job!
I could go on for a long tim here but I think I will finish with Matty's triple bunker against phoenix. I was laning on the inside of the left tape with Matt in the snake and he just goes for it, catches them all with their backs turned. Did anyone else notice all the green smoke around matty after that bunker run???lol
Anywho, just throw out a few thank you's for the event and the season.
First, thanks to the parents for filling in with work while I was gone at the events.
Second, thanks to Amie for supporting my pball addictions
Third, thanks to those whos places we crashed at, matty, jason and gregs, chads uncle and aunts, Sara's, etc. It is so appreciated.
Last but not least, the boys i ball with, you guys are like brothers...well danny, tim and jeremstar are, lol, but seriously matty, chad, darren and scotty you guys are all like brothers. There is nothing more fun then mowing helpless fools with you boys. I dont know exactly what next season holds for us, but it is looking promising, lets keep it together boys and the MR series will be ours next year.

Almost without exception, everyone on the team had their best tourney of the year. The reason I say "almost without exception" is because lil blinger has played killer ball all year and Jamie has been rock solid in the middle all year as well. But Matty, the way you unleashed the fury this tourney was unreal, it tottaly reminded me of C-4 where me and Steve would try to beat you to the end of the field and, more often than not, seeing you at the end yelling "clear!" The majic swagger coverall's were definitely with you bud.
My wingman Scotty played awesome he kept my back clean and I kept me safe on all my break outs. So along with that I have to apologize once again for shooting you in the head (so I could get the last two bunkers) and being the one to get yanked for my one for ones.Tim figured out how to play center this tourney and saved more than one game for us, once we figured out how he could cut down the lane to the monster there was no one left for me to bunker out anymore. And it was a sweet move sacrificing himself for Matty in the snake.Blixer, Dead man's walk aside, you played the best tourney of your life. You were there owning that snake game in, game out, ......(hhmmm I wonder why Janzen suddenly had a break-out tourney bunkering fools from the snake?) Jermo was my rock solid back man once again and he especially owned XPC in the finals..... I walked by XPC's staging area afterwards and they were talking about how we beat them and I heard them say: "We couldn't get to the monster, they did and they *#!*#** us from there!" LOL that made me laugh. It's always nice when other teams are frustrated with us. Jay-mo, I never really got to see you play, but all I know is that I would always beat you to the dead-box....in fact I don't think you died in hardly any of the games that we won, which means that you were mowing your gun the whole time..... that's the way it should be for the back middle guy. Anywho, right about now I am so pumped about our team that I wish we had just one more tourney this year...... I guess we'll have to wait until Nationals.
Don't worry boys...... we are going to own Impact next year. We're going to bring that MR championship back to good ol' Manitoba.

well i know everyone has allready said exactly what i was thinking,
EVERYONE and I MEAN EVERYONE PLAYED AMAZING!!!
my brothers, i cant wait till next year, i wont be around as much to practice, but i guess ill have matty, and maybe danny out west to practice with me, and maybe scotty next summer there....
i couldnt have done anything without my team mates, and i know scotty said it allready but playing this tourney, i actually felt like an Am player.... i did some new stuff this event and i think it really payed off, i developed a more "silent" playing style and keeping myself calm instead of getting worked up and hyped up about everything, and by the looks of it, it paid off by the way i felt i played, and you guys said i played
so here come the thanks for the year:
thanks to mike, emma, and their wonderful crew out west for puttin on the best tourney series Ive EVER been to.
thanks to the parents who stuck beside us and helped us out whenever we needed it
thanks to my friends back home who delt with me never comming out this summer and basically not really seeing me, and still wishing me luck and asking how i was doing when i was in a slump
thanks to all the kids who come out to practice, i know we beat up on you, and get beat up on sometimes, but without you we would be all rusty for every event
and last but not least, my team, my brothers, for the trust we gave eachother on the field, the fun we had, the skills we gained, and the knowledge we took home
